When I found out that you are going to live with me at the same host family I was really happy and when I added you on facebook and I looked your pictures I thought we were going to get along well. You seemed to be really sweet and happy girl. All of those things are true and you are also very funny, you always make me laugh!!! I have known you only one month now but I feel like I have known you much longer, because I can tell you anything. I know I am going to miss you very much when we will go back to our own home countries but luckily Norway and Finland are close to each other. I know this spring is going to be really funny because I can spend it with you. Oh and the most important thing is that you can make good food so you feed me and you always give me candy, hahah. And you have really cool clothes too so don´t be surprised if your closet is empty when you come back from Hawaii. I really hope that you will come to see me to Finland and I can come to see you in Norway!
Gro is fitting in really well here in America. She is super friendly, well liked, and has even joined swim team. She is super funny and is always a blast to be around with her ditsy personality. Its fun to show and teach her new things, while at the same time we learn about norway. She seems to enjoy things here and is now good friends with everyone in our group. She is easy to get along with and trust worthy. She is really becoming a true American. I wish she didnt have to leave us but while she is here i will enjoy it as all of us make memories and good experiences together. ;)
Not going to lie, the first time I saw you, I thought you were some annoying, new, freshman, Asian, cheerleader. EXCEPT I WAS WRONG. I found out later that you were an exchange student from Norway who's Chinese and I was all like, "Whao. Mind blown." Yet, still I didn't talk to you because I'm lame and don't talk to strangers. Then... *dun dun dun*you made the best decision of your life and joined swim team. I don't think we really spoke at first, but you made me laugh at pasta parties and in the locker room. Thus, we magically became friends. I mean, you're bascially awesome for lack of better terminology. You somehow manage to be more easily distracted and udderly random than me! That's pretty damn impressive. Your love of eggs, while strange, is hilarious and endearing, espically when you put them into ketchup cups. I'm super glad you joined swim team because i would've been lonely without you! I have to say, though, your make-up is confusing, so many jars! Plus, you're Asian so we're clearly superior (just kidding), and apparently we're alike. Alex said, " I think she's pretty cool. I mean she's kinda like you so she must be."
P.S Remeber to visit me someday! :D
So, Gro asked me to write about what I think of her in America and honestly, I have no idea what to say. She told me I couldn't say anything mean, so this is going to be pretty difficult...... haha ;) I do know that over time that she's been here, she's became one of my great friends. She is always tons of fun to be around. Wheter we're watching movies or attempting to learn dances from youtube videos, I am always laughing. It's hilarious how cute and innocent she can seem while saying such inappropriate things! I also love that she has such great taste in music and movies! I mean, she likes Jack Johnson and Mean Girls so she has to be pretty cool. She's also a great person to go to for advise or to just talk to when you need it. If I had to pick the one thing I like the most about Gro, it would probably be that she doesn't even realize how great she is. She seems so comfortable in her own skin and isn't afraid to voice her opinion. She's definitely a badass. I'm really hoping that these next 5 months pass by slowly, because it's really going to suck saying goodbye. Regardless of where we go after graduation, I hope that we stay in touch and that we, one day, have a chance to go on road trips, get inappropriately intoxicated, and finally finish that "Something Borrowed" dance! Love you, Gro!
When we first met you were so quiet and hesitant. I remember you were always scared to send text messages or order food at a resturant in case they were wrong, and you didn't know very many people. You have come soooo far since then. You are capable, fluent, and confident. You have made a lots of friends and you seem so at home here. I'm so thankful that I got to meet you. At first I didn't expect us to be close, but now you're one of my best friends. You're easy to talk to, absolutely hilarious and so much more relatable than I first expected. You're crazy and hysterical and awesome and adorable. I could tell you anything and not have to worry about you being judgmental or telling somebody else, and you put up with me being so mean to you all the time! I am so glad that you came here and that we got to be friends, and I am seriously going to cry my eyes out when you leave. Who is going to go to cute coffe shops and picnics and other adventures with Jordi and me? I really hope you've enjoyed your time here so far and I can't wait to have a great time together in the next four months. Love you Gro! :D <3
